South Africa have secured an easy victory against Pakistan in first test leading three matches series by 1-0. Africa won this low scoring test on mid of third day.

This match was dominated by bowlers as 15 wickets fell each on first and second day of test and South Africa got a target of 149 in remaining 3 days of test which proved to be an easy target for them at their home ground.

Pakistani batting line played very irresponsible game specially in 2nd innings. Pakistani bowlers bowled out Africa on 223 in first innings limiting them to lead of just 42 runs against Pakistan first innings score of 181. In second innings, Pakistan was 100/1 but then middle order collapsed and they were all out at 190. Only Imam and Shan played their role. Azhar Ali, Asad Shafique and specially Sarfaraz played very irresponsible shorts and getting out. These three big wickets lost the chance to set a good target for Africa.

 

Poor fielding also added its part in Pakistan defeat. Fakhar after scoring only 24 runs in both innings dropped Amla in second innings when he was only on 8 runs. If this catch would have been taken, the chase might have been tough for Africa.

Pakistani batting should focus on their game and try to stay on wicket controlling their habit to chase the balls going miles outside off-stump. Bowlers have played excellent but lack of support from batting and fielding side wasted their whole effort and result was DEFEAT.
