Thrill of Cricket World Cup 2019 ends with the Trophy in hands of England after luck and rules fully supporting English Team. BUT this victory was based on lot of ‘IFs & BUTs’ and luck.

England ultimately won Trophy first time while playing 4th WC final. Previously England played 1979, 1987 & 1992 WC finals. This was simply a day of England as luck, umpiring and ICC rules all were in favor of England.

NZ won the toss and elected to bat. They scored 241/8 in 50 overs with Nicholls’ 55 and Latham’s 47. England all out in 50 overs levelling the score to 241 with Stokes’ 84* and Buttler’s 59. Super Over was played and even in that score tied to 15 each and ultimately England was announced winners based on number of boundaries hit during match.

Honestly speaking, New Zealand deserved trophy. Taylor was given wrong LBW as NZ had lost their review. That ball was hitting him on above knee and he was playing on front foot. In 50th over, 4 runs were given for overthrow when ball was deflected by the bat of Stokes. This should not have been given as runs. NZ also remained unlucky in 49th over when fielder taking the catch at boundary rope touched the boundary line in momentum of moving back.

Further when Super Over tied, deciding on number of boundaries is unfair because boundaries are part of score and when score is level then taking part of it as deciding factor is not justifiable.

Anyways, CONGRATULATIONS to team England for creating history because this game was started by them and they were not there in World Cup winners in previous 11 World Cups.
